SuperKart GM Alan Rudolph Wins Again!

February 22, 2012 – Heading to the Homestead Karting Complex for rounds three and four of the Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour (FWT), PSL Atlantic pilot Alan Rudolph would look to increase his championship points lead. Competing in the Rotax DD2 Masters category with the PSL Atlantic squad, the Bondurant SuperKarts General Manager and Chief Instructor managed to stand atop the box after Saturday’s main event and backed that up with a solid podium result on Sunday.

“It was another good weekend,” expressed Rudolph. “In fact it was almost perfect. To have two wins and four podiums in four races, it truly says a lot about the people under the PSL Atlantic tent.”

After pacing the field during Friday’s timed practice sessions, Rudolph began his march towards perfection on Friday afternoon by taking the pole position in both qualifying runs. Assuring himself a front row starting position for both Saturday and Sunday’s heat races, Rudolph would now shift his focus to the wheel-to-wheel battle that would ensue.

Taking the top honors in Saturday’s prefinal, Rudolph was a machine in the main event taking the lead early and never looking back. Scoring the fastest lap time of the event with a solid 47.255, the Arizona driver scored a commanding 4.596 victory.

Back to the track on Sunday, Rudolph’s prefinal was a carbon copy of Saturday’s results, as Rudolph would once again take the checkered flag and pole position for the main event. With only twenty laps of action left to
ensure a perfect weekend, Rudolph’s only falter came in Sunday’s final.

Crossing the stripe in the first position, Rudolph was penalized for avoidable contact and was relegated back to the fourth position. With one driver receiving a disqualification in post race technical inspection, Rudolph would advance up to the third and final podium position.

Rudolph continued, “In the end, I made a mistake. Unfortunately I got into the back of a fellow competitor. Never intentional, I admit it was a mistake on my part and it will make it harder to claim the
overall series title in Ocala next month.”

“Everyone at PSL Atlantic and CRG is proud of Alan’s performance and ability to come to grasp with the DD2 program in such a short period of time,” expressed PSL Atlantic President Mike Dobbelsteyn. “We will work hard at the final round to ensure that Alan is at the front of the field and claims his invitation to be a member of Team USA later this year.”

Rudolph will be back in action in a few week’s time at the fifth and sixth rounds of the Florida Winter Tour. Taking place at the Ocala Gran Prix facility in Northern Central Florida, Rudolph will look to continue his string of podiums as he advances towards the Rotax DD2 Masters title.
